hello everyone welcome to the blog.

in this blog, we are going to talk about ev. but wait ev? what is ev? any guesses? umm “electron volt”,” enterprise value’’. well no!

actually, we are going to talk about other ev which means electric vehicle. yeah, now we all know about what we are going to talk about in this blog.

alright, now we know ev means electric vehicle but wait who invented this concept? who created this word? where it comes from? well, I also don’t have an idea but we have to find this for that I think we have to go back in time. so let’s go!!!!

why electric vehicles failed in the early 18th century
Fig 1.2: Sir Ányos Jedlik

Well, what is this pic? it’s the first EV model made in 1828 by Sir Ányos Jedlik (Hungarian) (fig 1.0.2) scientist.

He invented the early stage of the Electric (ELEKTRO) motor later then he created this small EV model (fig 1.0.1). What a brilliant guy.

Later, many brilliant minds came up and made various astonished and practical running EV cars awesome right.

Do you guys want to know who created the first practical EV model? it’s Sir Gustavo trouve’s (1881) (fig 1.0.3) he made the world’s first EV tricycle. Then Thomas parker (1895) (fig 1.0.4), Thomas Edison (1913)(fig 1.0.5), and in the modern world, there is TESLA (2015) (fig 1.0.6) also there are many models made by many inventors.

Now might be you guys are thinking if EV was invented in 1881. Then why it’s booming these days!

Curious? Well yeah, I was also thinking the same. EV’s are way more reliable and eco-friendly than today’s pollution-making petrol and diesel vehicles. I always wanted to know this but then I found my answer but for you let’s go back to the era where the madness of EV started.

In 1846 the revolution of the oil industry began.

We all know the crude oil-rich source of many precious and important raw materials which made tremendous evolution human history. By refining crude oil we get many resources, petrol and diesel are one of them.

In 1896 sir Henry ford (fig 2.2) invented the first gasoline-running automobile which was very affordable for any middle-class family at that time and because of that, the hype of Ford’s car(fig 2.3) went to peak in urban locals.

Compare to this less expansive car EVs were costly due to a lack of research and unviability of advanced technology.

Making the cost of batteries for EV was expensive and maintenance cost was also high because there was no advancement in battery manufacturing.

So because of this people tends towards less expensive gasoline running cars which were become the main reason for the falling EV industry.

But today because of advanced technology and many years of research we are able to make reliable EV which is good right. But wait which advance technology made EV this reliable?

The answer to this question is hidden in the late 1970. In this year the revolutionary era of battery technology began.

In 1970 oil crisis was at its peak so in this period Sir Stanley Whittingham (fig 3.1) invented a lithium-ion battery (fig 3.2). This invention becomes a milestone in the EV revolution.

Why? Because lithium-ion batteries (Li-ion) are rechargeable, means even after draining all his energy you can recharge it back easily like you do recharge your cell phone interesting right.

This makes EV more reliable still there are lots of advancements that are lack in EV but EV’s are the best alternative against petrol and diesel cars.

Yeah, why not, you can recharge your car battery and use it again in your car until the life of the battery ends by the plugin, not like the combustion cars have to refuel every time but can’t reuse the same fuel again and again. This makes EV’s way better than petrol cars.

Fig 4.1: Hybrid vehicle

The concept of EV is simple just run your car or bike or bicycle with help of an electric motor, powered by Batteries.

Now most of us are thinking. We have already bought gasoline/diesel running cars so we must have to buy EV separately.

don’t get sad actually, our engineers have developed various technology. By which you can simply just convert your traditional cars into EV just replace your engines with electric motors.

cool, right! or if you don’t want to go fully electric vehicle then you can make it a hybrid car/bike.

Hybrid car/bike what is this now?

Well, let me tell you the concept of hybrid in this the car or bike run with a combustion engine as well as battery.

The only difference is these cars or bikes don’t have the plug-in option, batteries are getting charged by the combustion engine or regenerative power from the braking system.

Hybrid cars also do have demerits like the maintenance cost is high they are not environment friendly like EV also they aren’t that much powerful. So better we prefer EV.

These days big problems like global warming and slowly ending conventional resources governments of many countries start looking towards EV as the best alternative green energy and eco-friendly source. For building a great community and awareness of EV this blog is my small initiative towards it. I believe that the upcoming era of the auto industry is EV.

Thank you so many guys for the reading blog I hope you like it. If you like it then please share this with your friends also in your circle and help for spreading awareness of EV in this world.
